Dart:

“Yea we will son, when you get home we can go.” His dad replied picking up a burnt piece of bacon and biting down on it somberly, his eyes looked watery and the two were silent as their breakfast started. “Do good today in the school competition ok.” Jet said to Zslone, giving him a pat on the back before reaching for his coat and grabbing the keys to the hover car. “You got it dad I won’t disappoint you ever!” Zslone yelled as he looked out the window and watched his dad drive off into the sky towards the center of the city, Zslone had to walk to school unfortunately and he was debating whether or not to actually go or if he should relax until something better came up. “Yea I ain't going to school today.” He quietly thought to himself running over to the couch and turning on the TV in the blink of an eye surfing through some early morning channels before stopping on the news. “Just more idiots saying stupid stuff about the government lying about the wars in space.” He said to the TV news reporter even if he couldn’t hear him it always made Zslone happier to know that he had made a smart remark than sit there and listen.

“Today’s top story a new hover-board event will be held today at the liberty stadium and all are invited to attend!” A commercial announced as Zslone’s eyes perked up and his attention was caught as he frantically looked around for his board knowing the junior division he could win easily. “I know what I’m doing today!” He shouted finally seeing his board in the corner of the room under a pile of coats and clothes, “Damn I have to dig it out!” He yelled in  frustration as he began the intensive process of throwing the clothes from on the hover-board to on the couch as he slowly worked his way down to the actual chrome plated board itself, the two distinctive yellow stripes separated by a single solid white strip down the middle was the only style on the board that showed Zslone had a board. “I can’t wait!” He cried out picking up his board turning on the gravitational disrupter and throwing it out the door before hoping on it and zooming through the sky, the wind in his hair and the smell of the gasoline in the air was all Zslone really wanted at that moment not remembering the ad said something about a prize and a television interview, all of that faded from his head as he skated down towards the stadium hearing the people cheer from a good five blocks from the stadium. The crowd’s roars broke any silence the city had and even then it roared over the sound of the hover-cars and the hover-boards that people rode over to watch the event.
